Tax Refund Fraud – By Florida Police Officers!

Attorney General Eric Holder gave a speech giving crIncome tax refund thefts are on the rise along with identity theft that it often starts with. In Miami recently, two police officers have been arrested for corruption and fraud as they used the state driver’s license database to gain information on 1000 identities and then file bogus federal tax returns. This brings the number of Miami police officers relieved of duty for corruption to 11.

In the last year the U.S. attorney has charged around 130 defendants for tax refund fraud that is estimated at $140 million.
